Another incredible year has gone by! It truly feels like life is moving at rapid fire speed.
The year 2025 brought easing interest rates and more homes coming on the market, which encouraged many buyers and sellers to make the decision to move. As rates continue to shift, more buyers and sellers will naturally enter the market.
New data from NerdWallet says 17 percent of families are thinking about buying a home again. This is great news considering that buyer demand cooled for several years, so this signals a real change. More people are feeling ready, or at least closer to ready, to take the step toward homeownership this year.
If you have been thinking about selling, this matters. Buyers are out there, and listing now means less competition from other homes that will be coming on the market.
For example, we previously helped one of our seller clients negotiate a higher sales price because their home was “the one”. There was nothing else on the market like it. The floor plan, quality, and overall vibe made it the ideal fit for the buyer. Nothing compared, and we knew it.
The buyer wanted a lower price, but we knew the value we were holding, and as I always say, “Not on my watch!” I will always fight for my clients. The moral of this story is if you want to get top dollar for your house, list it now before your house becomes one of the many.
